Ten of My Favorite Quotes

This is a list of ten of my favorite quotes. I tend to surround myself with wise words from those who came before me, both for inspiration, and to have sort of a mini-mindful-meditative-moment when I need it throughout the day (like when every boy in the house decides to have a melt-down at the same moment...)

These always seem to find me just when I need them...
  • You must be the change you wish to see in the world. Mahatma Gandhi
  • As you think, so shall you be. Dr. Wayne Dyer
  • One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar. Helen Keller
  • To be happy at home is the ultimate result of all ambition. Samuel Johnson
  • I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much. Mother Teresa
  • Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase. Martin Luther King Jr.
  • Grown-ups never understand anything for themselves, and it is tiresome for children to be always and forever explaining things to them. From The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupery
  • A woman is like a tea bag - you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water. Eleanor Roosevelt
  • Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler. Henry David Thoreau
  • Before Enlightenment, chop wood carry water, after Enlightenment chop wood carry water. Zen Proverb
What are some of yours?
