But Joshua wasn't finished with his request. "Could you make a rainbow one that's made of lots of rainbows?"

What a great idea, I told him. So we sketched, and picked yarn, and Joshua's rainbow was born.

Truthfully, it isn't finished, because he wants five rainbows since he's five now. There are only four at present because we had a deadline...

We entered it into the county fair!! Keep your fingers crossed; we're rooting for "honorable mention" because it's good to be honorable :-)
P.S. Thanks again Lucy...I used your Summer Garden Granny Square tutorial again (it's the only thing I know how to crochet...so far ;-)
What a great blanket! I am going to enter a couple of pictures in our county fair and maybe a flower arrangement. I hope you get an honorable mention...I think it is good to be honorable too!
ReplyDeleteGreat blanket!
ReplyDeleteAnd good luck at the county fair. :)
That is awesome! I keep meaning to make a granny sq blanket, but haven't quite gotten around to it yet. Did you use acrylic?
ReplyDeleteI love it - and how great that the boys are involved - if only on the designing and receiving end!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! Do tell how it ends up.
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies!! I'll let you know how it made out at the fair :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd alazyknitter ~ I just e-mailed you the specifics on the yarn. I've got to get set up on Ravelry (it's on my LONG list ;-)
Cheers!
~Michelle

Hi Michelle! Thanks for visiting my blog. Love your rainbow blanket-- I hope you win a prize at the county fair! Joshua is so cute and looks so happy with his blanket. I enjoyed reading your blog this morning-- I lived in New England for a summer about 10 years (near Plymouth, MA). Love the pics of your chickens, especially the one that met you at the car when you arrived home.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful job Michelle! I love that your boys asked you to make them blankets! Good luck at the fair, how fun! : )
