Chapter 37 and a Giveaway

So, it's my birthday. I am 37 years old. Wow, that sounds old, almost daring you to say late thirties; but I prefer to call it mid-thirties for at least another year, 'kay?

I always get a little introspective around this time. Did I accomplish enough this year, what are my goals for next year, etc, etc. On years like this that I've actually made another person, I usually give myself 2 thumbs up in the accomplishment department :-)

We're home from a lovely beach trip after what started out as a slightly wonky day that involved a few misadventures, but I digress... There are few things in life that a late afternoon trip to the beach (even in the fog & rain) can't fix!

I was away from my computer for a few days, and when I checked my e-mail today, was delighted to discover that I had won a lovely giveaway from another crafty mom blogger. Jill at Mindfully Simple makes beautiful glass bead necklaces and I was the lucky winner of one this weekend :-) I decided a while ago that if I ever won a giveaway from another blogger, I'd pay it forward and host my own giveaway. So I looked around tonight and here's what I've come up with...

A copy of Sewing for Dummies (not that anyone out there is a dummy ;-) it's a great resource for beginning sewers. And these three 12x26 inch pieces (plus a couple of surprise pieces) of fabric from the infamous fabric score . All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post (okay, it's kind of fun that my first giveaway win & giveaway give is happening on my birthday, so it seems to be turning into a shameless plug for b-day wishes ;-) I'll close the comments on Saturday the 8th at 8:00pm (Eastern Standard Time) and announce the winner by 10:00pm. Sound good?

Well, my awesome chef of a husband is in the kitchen making dinner, so I'm going to sign off for the night (I know, I am so spoiled ;-). I'll be back to catch up with all the wonderful reading over at your places tomorrow.

Cheers!
~Michelle

  3. Happy Birthday. A lovely giveaway --- I could really use the book. It seems like I've forgotten everything I ever knew about sewing.

  11. Happy birthday, Michelle. I don't sew, so I'm not going to enter the giveaway, but wanted to send you slightly belated birthday wishes. The picture of you and your children on the beach is beautiful.

  16. Michelle,
I'm so glad you've gotten some time with your hubby for your anniversary. Funny how when there are multiple kids, just having the baby with you seems easy enough! Yay, a giveaway! If I win this, I will pay it forward as well!

Happy Birthday! You are a fellow Leo! I knew there was another reason I liked you so much! My birthday is the 18th!!
