Tea Towel Sewing Machine Cover

I found this sweet tea towel at the thrift recently, for 10 cents!  It's the color combo I'm really into right now, and it has several of my favorite things on it; butterflies, fresh herbs, mushrooms, garlic, olive oil, and a chicken...

I was looking around for something to make with this lovely, you know, because I couldn't just let it be a towel.  I found this super easy tutorial at marthastewart.com.

I happened to also score a huge bag of notions that day, including oodles of vintage bias tape... just what I needed!

So I whipped this up in, well about 2 hours (let's just say I had help).  I think the average beginner/novice sewist could tackle this in about 5 minutes (as long as they aren't working with a 2 year old, ahem).

I love how it brightens up my little sewing corner :-)

  1. That is awesome! I should really try that as my machine sits out in the laundry and should probably be covered...

Yes, I have a new camera! Thank you so much for your compliments :)

Love the craftiness! I, too, knit on the way to fairs. We are blessed that we do not get car sick, I say. So happy you are back! I am following you again!
